Shimano still rules: What the 2026 WorldTour equipment grid really looks like

Shimano still leads the 2026 WorldTour with 10 of 18 men’s teams on Dura-Ace Di2, but SRAM has surged to power eight squads. Behind the logos, the numbers tell a story of vertical integration, aero-driven wheel choices, and the complete disappearance of Campagnolo from the top tier.

The WorldTour is the peak of cycling's sporting battlefield, but it is also the home of the battle for marketing dominance across the sport.

As we discussed in our deep dive interview with David Millar on the importance of WorldTour sponsorship for a brand like Factor, sponsoring a team can cost millions in pure cash alongside hundreds of bikes, groupsets, wheels or items of clothing.

It is a unique testing ground, though, putting gear to the most rigorous tests in the highest-stakes environment.

This year, we've seen some interesting shifts in the sponsorship pattern, most obviously the disappearance of Campagnolo from the WorldTour altogether. That's a departure from the early 2000s when Campagnolo was not only present, but dominant.

Below is our index of all the sponsors in the men's WorldTour, and we'll follow with a detailed version for the women's squads soon.

Much of the equipment choice is dictated by bike brands. Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe and Soudal Quick-Step are locked into full Specialized/Roval/tyre ecosystems, Decathlon-CMA CGM run Van Rysel from head to toe, and Lidl–Trek (Trek/Bontrager) and Jayco–AlUla (Giant/Cadex) follow similar “system bike” logic.

Tyres are heavily dominated by Continental and Vittoria, with Specialized squads using in-house rubber, and Pirelli and Michelin supplying the remaining outliers.

Inconspicuous though it may be, one of the biggest trends to watch in the years to come will be the expansion of Chinese brands in the WorldTour. For now it's limited to X-Lab, which also sponsors women's team Laboral Kutxa-Euskadi.

With the season ahead, we'll see how the marketing investments of the major brands pay off.
