Who we are, what we do and what Velora stands for

Velora Cycling is a new home for cycling journalism. Launched by former Cyclingnews editor Peter Stuart and AI specialist Danny Bellion, we combine world-class editorial expertise with AI-driven technology to deliver faster, deeper, and more intelligent cycling coverage – from breaking news to live results, analytics and product insights.

Our mission is to give fans, racers and everyday riders a clear, intelligent and data-driven understanding of the sport.

With a focus on pro cycling, cycling events, training and cycling products that we love, Velora will be a complete resource for people who love cycling as much as we do.

Our coverage includes:

  • Race results and analysis
  • Product and buying advice
  • Cycling events guide
  • Cycling training advice
  • In-depth stories from the industry and sport
  • Data-led analysis of racing

Who are we?

Editor & Co-founder - Peter Stuart

Headshot of Peter Stuart - Editor and co-founder of Velora Cycling

Peter oversees Velora’s editorial strategy and content standards, bringing nearly 20 years of cycling journalism to the site.

He was previously editor of Cyclingnews since 2022, where he introduced Cyclingnews digital membership strategy alongside a host of new content pillars widening the brand’s appeal.

Before Cyclingnews Peter was the digital editor of Rouleur magazine, and digital editor of Cyclist magazine before that. Starting life as a freelance feature writer, with bylines in The Times and The Telegraph, he joined Cyclist magazine in 2012 as staff writer.

Peter has reported from Grand Tours, WorldTour races, rainy dual carriageway time trials and the summit of the world’s hardest cycling climb on a volcano in Hawaii. He has a background as an international rower, representing Great Britain at Under-23 level and at the Junior Rowing World Championships.

Head of Platform & Co-founder - Danny Bellion

Danny Bellion - Head of Platform & Co-founder

Danny is the mind behind the tech that powers Velora Cycling, having had an excellent career in financial technology and latterly AI integration, but more importantly is a lifelong cycling fanatic.

Danny has a fixation on long-distance riding, completing Dales Divide, BikingMan Oman as well as multiple bikepacking tours across the world, including an eight-month odyssey across Asia.

Danny not only provides the tech expertise but brings his own experience of cycling to Velora to add to our product, training and events coverage.

How does Velora make money?

Velora Cycling’s income comes from two transparent, non‑intrusive sources:

  • Affiliate Marketing – When we recommend cycling gear, products or services, we may receive a small commission on any purchase made through our links. This fee is paid by the brand, not the reader, and is disclosed wherever the link appears.
  • Display Advertising – We also host non‑intrusive display banners or video ads on the site. Ad placement is purely for revenue generation, often purely programmatic and does not influence editorial content.

Both revenue streams are disclosed in the relevant articles and in our privacy policy, ensuring that editors remain independent and readers are fully informed.
