Giro d'Italia stage 10 TT start times, when Vingegaard, Eulálio and Ganna roll out on 42km course

The Giro's longest time trial sends 167 riders down the Versilia coast. Here's when the GC contenders and TT specialists start in Viareggio.

Stage 10 of the 2026 Giro d'Italia is a 42-kilometre individual time trial from Viareggio to Massa on Tuesday, with the first rider leaving at 13:15 CET and maglia rosa Afonso Eulálio (Bahrain Victorious) scheduled last at 16:31. Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike), second overall at 2:24, rolls out at 16:28.

The start order runs in reverse general classification, meaning the lowest-placed riders in the overall standings go first and the race leader goes last. That puts the decisive GC action into the final 15 minutes of the afternoon.

As with every stage of the Giro, our Giro d'Italia stage guide offers an interactive tool which will show you the best moments to tune in.

When the GC contenders start

Thymen Arensman (Netcompany Ineos), sixth overall at 5:00, opens the late GC window at 16:16. He said of the time trial yesterday: "I think you're never really looking forward to a time trial because you know it's going hurt like hell!". The final starters leave at three-minute intervals, with Christian Scaroni (XDS Astana Team) at 16:19, Jai Hindley (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe) at 16:22, Felix Gall (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) at 16:25, Vingegaard at 16:28 and Eulálio at 16:31.

Riders further down the classification but still within GC range include Ben O'Connor (Jayco-AlUla), eighth at 5:03, Giulio Pellizzari (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe), ninth at 5:15, and Michael Storer (Tudor Pro Cycling), tenth at 5:20. All start earlier in the afternoon.

TT specialists and early benchmark rides

Several strong time triallists are well outside the GC battle and will set reference times hours before the favourites begin. Their start times, in order:

Ganna and Campenaerts, in particular, should provide a clear yardstick for the GC riders who follow.

The course

Stage 10 course - RCS Sport

The the route is flat and almost entirely straight, with two U-turns. From Viareggio the course heads south through pine forest along Viale dei Tigli before the first U-turn at Marina di Torre del Lago. Riders retrace the road back to Viareggio, pick up the seafront heading north and follow the Versilia coast to Marina di Massa, where the route turns inland to a second U-turn at Rinchiostra. A brief return to the seafront precedes a final inland stretch to the finish in Massa.

The projected finish window runs from approximately 14:01 for the first starter to 17:14 for the last.
