UAE Team ADQ

UAE Team ADQ traces back to an Italian squad founded in 2011 as Mcipollini-Giordana, named after the frame company of the former sprinter Mario Cipollini. Nicole Cooke, the 2008 Olympic and world road race champion, rode for it in that first season, and Elena Cecchini and Shelley Olds were among its riders in the early years. The Cipollini name stayed on the jersey until 2019, through MCipollini-Giambenini-Gauss in 2012 and Alé-Cipollini from 2014.

Marta Bastianelli joined in 2016 and won the European road race title in 2018 while riding for the team. She left for Team Virtu Cycling in 2019 and returned the following year. Chloe Hosking rode alongside her in the late Alé seasons. BTC Ljubljana came in as co-title sponsor for 2020, the squad raced as Alé BTC Ljubljana, and it held a UCI Women's WorldTeam licence for that season.

The backers of UAE Team Emirates took the team over in October 2021 and rebranded it, with the Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company added as a sponsor, and it raced as UAE Team ADQ from 2022. Rubens Bertogliati took charge of the racing side for that first season under the new owners, and Maria Camila Garcia was appointed chief executive in November 2023. Bastianelli won the Grand Prix Elsy Jacobs overall in 2022 and retired after 2023.

The Italian core carried over into the Emirati era, and Chiara Consonni won the Tour of Chongming Island overall in 2023. Elisa Longo Borghini signed from Lidl-Trek and began racing for the team in February 2025. She won the UAE Tour Women that month and the Giro d'Italia Women in July. The team also took Brabantse Pijl and Dwars door Vlaanderen in 2025.

The men's squad with the same Emirati backing is registered separately and races under the UAE Team Emirates name.
