Milan–San Remo 2026, or Milano-Sanremo if you want to use local naming, is the season's first Monument and takes place on Saturday, March 21.

This year it is starting in Pavia and finishing on the Via Roma in Sanremo. Nearly 300km of racing ends with the decisive Cipressa and Poggio climbs, and the whole thing is widely available across official TV and streaming platforms. Here is how to watch live, whether you are at home or abroad.

Race favourites

As discussed in our full Milan–San Remo preview, the real central focus of Milan–San Remo is the battle between Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Premier Tech) and Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) as the headline favourites. Wout van Aert (Visma | Lease a Bike), Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) and Tom Pidcock (Pinarello Q36.5) could all produce a surprise, though. The Cipressa and Poggio compress the entire race into a final 30 minutes, so positioning on those climbs will matter as much as raw form.

If you are travelling abroad and already have access to one of these services, a VPN can help you connect securely to your home country and continue watching your usual official feed.

Using a VPN legally while travelling

Broadcasters geo-restrict their streams because of territory-based licensing rights. If you are away from home on Saturday, a VPN lets you securely connect to a server in your home country so you can access your existing paid or free account as normal.

How to do it:

  1. Download NordVPN before race day. It is our recommended VPN for streaming while travelling.
  2. Connect to your home country (e.g., UK for Discovery+, Australia for SBS, Italy for RaiPlay).
  3. Open your usual broadcaster's site or app, sign in, and start the live stream.

Velora never endorses bypassing broadcast rights. A VPN should only be used to access official services, whether paid or free-to-air, while abroad.

Always use legitimate platforms. Unofficial streams breach copyright, are routinely unreliable at the worst moments, and expose viewers to malware and intrusive ads.

When to watch Milan-San Remo to catch the key moments

Milano-Sanremo is the longest one-day race on the WorldTour calendar and cycling's first Monument of the season. That also means it features multiple hours of very little action ahead of the Cipressa and key climbs.

So if you want to tune in to watch the key moments, here is when to tune in dependent on speed

Cipressa

At 46 km/h: 16:11 CET

At 44 km/h: 16:28 CET

At 42 km/h: 16:46 CET

Poggio di Sanremo
