TNT Sports will move from discovery+ to the HBO Max app in the UK and Ireland on 26 March 2026, Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed in an email to subscribers on 9 February.
The migration means UK viewers who currently watch the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and other major races through discovery+ will need to download the HBO Max app to maintain access. Existing login credentials and the £30.99 monthly price for the TNT Sports plan will carry over unchanged, the company said.
The UK is one territory where cycling streaming comes at a substantial premium, as we investigated in our story on cycling's streaming inequality. It does, however, offer comprehensive cycling coverage across the season, and is consistently referenced in our guides on how to watch pro cycling.
TNT Sports on HBO Max will continue to deliver more than 1,000 live cycling broadcasts annually, including every stage of the Tour de France, according to Warner Bros. Discovery. The 4K UHD picture quality offered through TNT Sports Ultimate, its dedicated high-definition channel, will be integrated into the sports plan on the new platform.
Subscribers will be able to stream on two devices simultaneously on basic and standard tiers, rising to four on the Premium tier. The app will also introduce interactive in-app features for key sports events, allowing viewers to adjust replays and data overlays.
Beyond cycling, the TNT Sports package includes UK coverage of the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, MotoGP, the Australian Open and Roland-Garros.
The HBO Max app will be available on Samsung, LG and Android smart TVs, Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, PlayStation, Xbox and set-top boxes from Sky, Virgin and EE/BT TV. Pre-registration opens on the App Store and Google Play on 12 March.
Why the move is happening
Warner Bros. Discovery is consolidating its UK streaming services into HBO Max. TNT Sports, formerly BT Sport, had used discovery+ as an interim streaming home due to the delay in HBO rights clearing from Sky. HBO Max now becomes the company's single direct-to-consumer platform in the UK, combining sports rights with entertainment content from HBO, Warner Bros. and DC Studios.
"Launching HBO Max in the UK and Ireland marks a significant moment for viewers here," Andrew Georgiou, Warner Bros. Discovery's president of UK and Ireland, said.
Warner Bros. Discovery says cycling coverage and pricing for UK and Irish TNT Sports subscribers will remain unchanged on HBO Max at launch.
