Details of the 2027 international road calendar are beginning to emerge, with new races in Mexico and the Canary Islands and a category upgrade opening India’s Pune Grand Tour to WorldTeams.
The UCI approved its men’s and women’s WorldTour calendars in June, separately from the wider international calendar agreed at its September meeting. The men’s WorldTour schedule comprises 36 events and 169 race days; these additions sit on the continental calendars below it.
The new Vuelta Ciclista a Canarias runs from 14–17 January as a four-day 2.1 event. Mexico gains the 1.1 Clásica de la República on 17 January, followed by the 2.1 MEX Tour from 19–23 January.
The MEX Tour overlaps with the Santos Tour Down Under, which runs from 19–24 January, offering teams another January option alongside the Australian WorldTour event.
Pune Grand Tour moves from 2.2 to 2.1 and is scheduled for 26–31 January, coinciding with the Tour de Colombia. Under the UCI’s 2026 participation rules, WorldTeams can race Asia Tour 2.1 events, making up no more than 50% of the field. They are excluded from the 2.2 participation list.
The Surf Coast Classic on 28 January is set to run as a 1.Pro race for the first time. It was upgraded from 1.1 for 2026, but that edition was cancelled at the last minute because of bushfire risk. Under the Oceania Tour rules, the higher class raises the permitted WorldTeam share from 50% to 65% of the field. Together with Pune's upgrade, that widens WorldTeam access to lower-tier races in late January; teams are not required to take part.
Slovenia’s new Premium Alpine Race is scheduled for 15 June at 1.1 level, two days before the Tour of Slovenia. The stage race drops from five days to four, running from 17–20 June. Teams entering both events would have five race days across six days, with 16 June between them.
Croatia gets a similar pairing: the new CRO Race Classic in Split is scheduled for 21 September, on the eve of the CRO Race. The stage race itself shrinks from six days to five.
Italy gains a new G.P. Emilia on 29 March. Cholet Agglo Tour moves from its initially scheduled October date to 21 March, while Greece’s Visit South Aegean GP and the Dodecanese islands race move a week later, to 6 and 7 March.
The Tour of Norway returns after its 2026 cancellation. Organiser Fjords Cycling halted preparations in December 2025.
“After the government’s unexpected funding cut, there is no longer a financial basis to continue work on next year’s event,” the organiser said.
A two-million-kroner grant from Sparebankstiftelsen SR-Bank gave Fjords Cycling a basis to plan the revival in May 2026. The race is now listed for 27–30 May 2027.
