Race Favourites

La Flèche Wallonne's repeated Ardennes climbs and the steep uphill finish on the Mur de Huy reward explosive puncheurs who can still produce a full-gas one-minute effort after a long day of attrition. Pre-race favourites are Paul Seixas (Decathlon CMA CGM Team), Kévin Vauquelin (INEOS Grenadiers), Benoît Cosnefroy (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), Romain Grégoire (Groupama-FDJ United) and Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Trek).

Other riders to definitely watch was Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious), Tobias Halland Johannessen (Uno-X Mobility), Christian Scaroni (XDS-Astana), Dani Martínez (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe), Julian Alaphilippe (Tudor), Marc Hirschi (Tudor), and multiple other riders besides.

Seixas is the clearest super talent with the likes of Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) sitting the racing out until Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) doing the same after winning Amstel Gold Race.

Tom Pidcock (Pinarello-Q36.5) is busy building form at the Tour of the Alps, and then riders such as Juan Ayuso (Lidl-Trek), Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) and Ben Healy (EF Education-EasyPost) are all out injured or ill.

In the women's race, Demi Vollering (FDJ–Suez) enters as the clear favourite, though we will be keeping our eyes on Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (Visma–Lease a Bike) – both of them have the punch for the Mur de Huy.

Legal Free Streams

Velora tip: Several countries offer official live coverage entirely for free:

You can safely access your usual services abroad via a trusted VPN, without breaking any rules. If you're travelling, you can connect via VPN to your home country to access these official, legal feeds, just as if you were at home.

Using a VPN Legally While Travelling

Broadcasters often geo-block live sports rights by country. If you're travelling, a VPN lets you securely connect to your home network so you can keep watching your existing paid or free account from abroad.

How to do it:

  1. Download NordVPN, our recommended VPN for streaming while travelling.
  2. Connect to your home country (e.g., France for france.tv or Australia for SBS On Demand).
  3. Open your usual broadcaster's site or app and start watching.

Velora never endorses bypassing broadcast rights.
A VPN should only be used to access official services, whether paid or free-to-air, while abroad.

Always use legitimate platforms. Unofficial streams often breach copyright and can expose viewers to malware or fake ads.

When to watch

The men ride through kilometre zero at 11:50 local time with the entire race likely available to watch with TNT Sports in the UK showing live coverage from five minutes before that time.

From then on it is a waiting game. The first climb of the day, the Côte de Trasenster, comes around 12:32 to 12:36 local time. The first passage of the Mur de Huy, however, comes at 14:32 to 14:48 – maybe aim to tune in for 14:30 to be safe.

The second passage of the finish line is at 15:22 to 15:42 local time. The final three climbs, the Côte d'Ereffe at 15:47 to 16:10, the Côte de Cherave at 16:04 to 16:29 and the finish on the top of the Mur de Huy at 16:11 to 16:37.

The last 20 minutes, and the ascent of Mur de Huy, will be where the pivotal race moment falls.

These are, of course, guideline times for the fastest and slowest scheduled times. It can be slower, nowadays it is often faster.
