Alpecin-Premier Tech began as a cyclo-cross programme, racing from 2009 as BKCP-Powerplus under the brothers Philip and Christoph Roodhooft, with Niels Albert and Philipp Walsleben among its early leaders. Corendon came in as a backer in 2016, and the name Corendon-Circus carried the squad onto the road, where it raced at Professional Continental level from 2019. Alpecin took the title sponsorship for 2020, paired with Fenix.
Deceuninck replaced Fenix as second naming partner in the middle of the 2022 season, announced in May and taking effect at that year's Tour de France. The squad was promoted to the WorldTour for 2023 and raced as Alpecin-Deceuninck through 2025. It became Alpecin-Premier Tech for 2026, after the Canadian firm Premier Tech, co-title sponsor of the Israeli WorldTeam from 2022 to 2025, moved across on a three-year deal announced in December 2025.
The team has been built around Mathieu van der Poel, who has ridden for the Roodhoofts throughout his professional career and has raced both its road and cyclo-cross programmes. He won the Tour of Flanders in 2020, 2022 and 2024, Milan-San Remo in 2023 and 2025, and Paris-Roubaix in 2023, 2024 and 2025. He took the road world title at Glasgow in 2023, and led the 2021 Tour de France after winning at Mûr-de-Bretagne.
It rode the 2021 and 2022 Tours de France as a wildcard invitee and won stages at both, Tim Merlier taking one in 2021 and Jasper Philipsen in 2022. Philipsen has supplied most of the sprint results since, with van der Poel often leading him out, and took the points classification at the 2023 Tour and the opening stage of the 2025 edition. Kaden Groves won the points jersey at the 2023 Vuelta a España.
The Roodhoofts also run the women's squad, which raced as Fenix-Deceuninck and took the Premier Tech name for 2026.
