A glamorous Tarentaise resort whose finish beside the Altiport airstrip has hosted several decisive Tour summit finishes since the 1990s, most recently at the top of the fearsome Col de la Loze.

After the race climbed the Tour's highest pass, the Col de la Loze, Gall descended alone to win at Courchevel on the day Tadej Pogačar cracked and lost the Tour to Jonas Vingegaard.
