Lennert Van Eetvelt

Van Eetvelt joined Lotto's under-23 team in 2020, having started racing as a child. He won the Belgian under-23 time trial title in 2021 and was third in the same championship a year later, behind Alec Segaert. He signed for the senior Lotto squad for 2023 and rode the Volta a Catalunya that March, his first WorldTour stage race.

His Grand Tour debut came at the Vuelta a España in August of that first professional season. He was third on the stage to Larra-Belagua, behind Remco Evenepoel and Romain Bardet, and fourth on the penultimate stage, won by Wout Poels. He finished the race 32nd overall.

The 2024 UAE Tour turned on the final day. Van Eetvelt attacked on the climb to Jebel Hafeet, won the stage alone and took the general classification by two seconds from Ben O'Connor, who had taken the earlier summit finish on Jebel Jais. He took the young rider classification as well. It was his first win in a WorldTour race, in his second season as a professional.

He was third at the Clásica de San Sebastián that August, seven seconds down on Marc Hirschi and Julian Alaphilippe, and seventh at Il Lombardia in October. The season ended at the Tour of Guangxi, where he won the summit finish at Nongla and the overall by five seconds from Oscar Onley. Both of his stage race wins that year came the same way, one attack on a short climb and a margin of seconds held to the end.

In 2025 he was ninth at Strade Bianche, a race Tadej Pogačar won by more than a minute. Later that month he was fourth on the Montserrat stage of the Volta a Catalunya, behind Primož Roglič, and eighth overall.
