Spanning seven stages through Northern Spain, the route focuses on the rugged mountains of Galicia and Asturias, challenging the peloton with over 14,500 meters of vertical gain and punishing double-digit gradients.

Petra Stiasny rode clear in the final kilometres and won the summit finish on L'Angliru with a solo effort. A break featuring Liane Lippert and the Markus sisters shaped the day.
Paula Blasi attacked on the steep upper slopes, dropped Anna van der Breggen and secured the overall victory and mountains classification. Lotte Kopecky sealed the points jersey before the final climb.
