Gavere, on the Scheldt south of Ghent, hosts the sixth round of the 2026-27 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup on Saturday 26 December. The race was first run in 1978 in nearby Asper and became a World Cup round under Flanders Classics in 2022. The course runs around Kasteel Grenier and turns into deep mud in wet weather, as it did in 2022, when more than 15,000 spectators watched. It opens a run of three World Cup races in four days, continuing in Namur and Besançon.
