The third-highest paved pass in France at 2,744 m, climbed from the Queyras in the west or, as the Colle dell'Agnello, up Italy's Varaita valley in the east. Rarely used but unforgettable, it has launched the Tour over the frontier in both directions — and gave the 2016 Giro its highest point, the Cima Coppi.
